maybe teams should be barred from buying players until they are back within the parameters of FFP.

It’s a case of multi billionaire owners. Trying too stay multi billionaire owners by as spending as little as possible. Making sure nobody else can possibly eat at the same table. And trying their upmost to show the rest of the world they are honest business people.

This easing of penalties the more you offend seems incredibly convenient for one mind-bogglingly wealthy and successful club in particular, doesn't it?

Looks like the Premier League readying itself the proverbial slap across the wrist for PepChester...

wouldn't be surprised if there's some clandestine agreement that they'll dock as many points as posssible without relegating them.

Well Sky are either revelling in the fact that Everton could get relegated or are trying to help them financially as they are on Live on Sky 5 times between now and the end of May. West Ham no appearances on Sky at all!!

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
I dont buy this idea of reducing the penalty because they have already been punished for losses in 2 of the previous years
If you know that you are in breach over a 2 year period the obligation is to rectify that in year 3.
Even if that means selling Pickford, Tarkowski etc

In the last couple of years when they were in breach Everton bought the Burnley winger McNeill and outbid us on Onana when supposedly his sister/agent wanted his high wages to be boosted by a substantial premium for HER.
Cant see any action on their part to repair the FFP hole they were in.
8 points over 2 offences is no deterent to stop teams cheating like this.
I think the initial 10 point penalty was fair and a second offence should be more. Maybe 15 or 20 points

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
The PL seem determined to make Everton (And forest to a lesser extent) sail as close to the wind as possible when it comes to getting relegated?

Everton and Forest however should be grateful all these punishments and point deductions are coming in a season when the bottom 3 looks nailed on from the opening game of the season.

It could go tits up and either gets relegated, but you look at the relegation battle and it hasn't been this clear cut for years, any other season and they would both be fucked

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
The way I read it, Everton were docked 10, reduced to 6 on appeal. It was a breach of PSR over a 3 year period. They've breached again but 2 of those 3 years have already been punished, so now they've been docked 2 points for the 'new' year. I think it was pretty much expected

Luck fo both these teams that those cunts at Sheffield United are well adrift, otherwise they'd be saying: "It should of bin more points." and going to their lawyers,

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
The reason for the 2 points is because it was about a quarter of the amount Forest were punished for. Plus the 16m that they were over by was partially due to the sanctions on a sponsorship with Usmonov’s USM company.

They are appealing but that might fall flat as it’s a second offense.

I’m far more concerned with how Man City’s 100+ breaches are punished.

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
2 pts doesn’t surprise me, they got 10pts reduced to 6 on appeal. Forest then get 4pts for breaking the exact same rule but by a greater margin (figure that out?)

Everton then get 2 pts which brings their total to 8, exactly double Forests penalty for breaking the same rule twice. Wouldn’t be surprised if both the Forest and Everton appeals don’t get this round of punishments reduced and this is how it stays so no one can claim the two teams were treated differently

Sullivan is a tight bastard . I couldn't believe the amount of Moyes apologists on kumb claiming . We should be 10th to 12 th on the wage bill . Forgetting the turnover of the club and where were we are on the attendance table. Dwarfs playing possum. He's doing the usual trick of cooking the books before a sale .

they cheated a second time and got a minimal penalty.

where is the incentive to sort out your finances in year 2?

Re: 4 point deduction for Notts Forest
Doesn't make much sense, to me. I was expecting to be harsher than the 6 points they've already got considering it's a second charge.

I wonder how many times they have to break FFP rules to get points given to them?

Everton deducted 2 points for a second offence

12 points would feel about right
